So, guess what I did today? No clue? Well…I bought tickets to not one, not two, but THREE Metallica shows. TRIPLE FREAKIN WOOHOO!!!
FINALLY! METALLICA IS TOURING THE U.S.!!!!!
The only downside is that the shows are not until…*drumroll* January 2009!!
Yeah, that’s FIVE FREAKIN MONTHS AWAY FROM NOW! ACK!
But, I know, I KNOW, it will be well worth the wait. Besides, Death Magnetic will be available a mere 13 short days from now. Hearing it will either make the wait a little more bearable or a hell of a lot longer! HAHA
Not to mention, I have a few shows lined up for the Fall/Winter. Oh and some more new music releases coming up here soon thru the end of October!
I’m going to be pretty busy!

Currently listening to: “Cyanide” – NEW METALLICA!!!
So, Happy Birthday to me 🙂
Not only did I have a pretty good day, I heard a BRAND NEW Metallica song (Cyanide) on the radio twice three times today and the pre-sale for the Death Magnetic Coffin Box Set started. In case you didn’t know, Death Magnetic will be available on Friday, September 12. Oh and Metallica will be coming to Chicago and Milwaukee in January 2009! YEAH BABY!! FINALLY, I have a couple dates for my next Metalli-fix! (the last one was Nov 2005!)
School started this week which means the summer is starting to wind down. I can’t believe August is about half over now. The summer REALLY flew by. Man alive. It will be time to start thinking about a Halloween costume before I know it! 😉
I added pics from August Fest. The entire day ROCKED!
I have a few shows lined up thru the end of the year and quite a few CD purchases to make over the next couple of months. Man I love music.

Currently listening to: “The Sound of Madness” – Shinedown
When it rains, it pours. It’s been literally raining for the better part of 3 weeks now. In fact, as I’m typing this it’s raining. But the reason for the “when it rains…” comment is this. It’s been a few weeks since I updated my 2008 concert list. As of today, it’s been updated. My previous short list of 16 concerts for the year quickly jumped up to 27! I had to count it twice to make sure that was right!
Ah yes, you gotta love the summertime…it brings forth the bands and Summerfest in Milwaukee! 😀

Don’t forget New Music Tuesday June 24th. New Shinedown “The Sound of Madness”, new Motley Crue “Saints of Los Angeles” and new Rose Hill Drive “Moon is the New Earth. Thanks to a pre-sale for the new Shinedown I already have it. Let me tell you, I have NOT stopped listening to it yet. WOW! It’s freaking awesome!
In Metallica News, in case you had not heard, the Mission Metallica website has been live for over a month now and MAN have there been some awesome videos! Daily tidbits of “the making of the new album” footage + some random funny stuff. Not to mention photos and show downloads for Platinum Members.
The new Metallica album — Death Magnetic — (I know, I think it’s a weird name too) is slated for release sometime in September with a Fall tour to start in October. Two months still seems like a long ways off. Luckily I have a pretty busy summer to help take my mind off of it! AND HOPEFULLY, some sort of single will hit the radio airwaves within the next month.

On Sunday, April 27, I will be attending my 400th concert since April 18, 1986. It was just two short years ago that I was attending my 300th! (Rob Zombie April 11, 2006) Who could have imagined I would now be up to 400 concerts!!
Can you say…I N S A N E!?
So, are you wondering? Which band gets the honor? Well, it’s Apocalyptica. An amazing, rockin’ cello band from Finland. This will be my second time seeing them and I CANNOT wait! They really blew me away the last time and I expect nothing less this time around. My son is also going with me along with a couple of friends. Good times for sure!
I added some more pics and concerts dates to my 2008 Concert Schedule. *SHOCKER* I have one more band to add and I’m caught up with pics! This is unheard of! 😉
I’m still very patiently waiting for the Metallica U.S. Fall Tour to be announced. To be honest, I’ve just about run out of patience (how funny, Guns N Roses’ song “Patience” is playing on the radio right now as I type this! I’m not joking. WEIRD!) so I hope they let us in on the gigs soon!
Rock on the Range is less than a month away now. Last year was a total blast! This year it takes place over two days + we get the debut of the reunited Stone Temple Pilots! YEAH BABY!!
Long live Rock n Roll!

I’ve updated my 2008 Concert Schedule with some more shows and a few more pics from shows I’ve already seen! The start of the year has been shaping up nicely with some really great shows!
In other news, The Black Crowes, after 7 years, finally released a new album, Warpaint. PHENOMENAL! I was lucky enough to score a ticket to the Chicago show where they played the ENTIRE new album along with 6 other tasty songs!
Also, starting March 31st, live downloads of their shows will be made available. Check out www.liveblackcrowes.com for details on how to start adding to your collection!
Eric Sardinas also has a new album and is currently touring to support it! My friends and I were able to see him at Buddy’s Guy’s Legends and it was amazing! I highly recommend his new album too!
Apocalyptica is also coming back to the States! WOOHOO! I saw them a couple years ago and was just blown away! I’m expecting nothing less this time around! They also have a new album being released in April.
All this new music has me going crazy! In a good way of course 🙂 There are a few more bands releasing new music this year along with tours to support it. I can’t wait to see what else pops up! Live music.. I think I would die without it! 😉

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Wow, I can’t believe it is already 2008. Two more years and it will be 2010. Now that will be weird.
Anyway, back at the end of 2005, I sent out a “2005 recap email”. I tried to do one for 2006 but time just got away from me. Well, this year I was determined to get one finished for 2007. Not only did I, but I added photos as well. I had a pretty busy year but man was it a lot of fun!
Check out my life in 2007. Oh and you never know…you may just find a picture of yourself there too! 😉
