The Panic Channel

Double Door – Chicago, IL

My friend Kim and I went to see The Panic Channel at Double Door in Chicago and it was a blast! The band consisted of Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney from Jane’s Addiction with Steve Isaacs on vocals. While the majority of their set was electric, we were also treated to a short acoustic set that included Stephen up front on bongos and Dave played an acoustic guitar.

During the show, the band asked the crowd to participate in counting up to 13. What we didn’t know at the time, is that it would end up being Track 13 on their forthcoming album, (ONe) (released August 15, 2006). [Note: At the Feb 3, 2007 show, I found out from Steve that they tried to record the countdown in two other cities but Chicago turned out the best. HOW COOL!]

After the show, Kim and I ended up meeting Steve, Dave, and Stephen. Three out of four ain’t bad!

Below are a ton of pics I took that night (scanned photos that were originally taken with a film camera) along with some pics of the show poster I had signed, a band sticker and button. The final picture is a chalk drawing of the band’s logo. Kim and I ended up talking to another fan and found out she created it while waiting in line before the show started. She told us she drove up from Springfield, IL for the show. CRAZY! She and I accidentally connected again later in the year, due to another band, and have been friends ever since.
